The platoon headquarters provides patient administration and maintains records of treatment for those who are treated.

The following personnel are designated as part of the headquarters section of the medical platoon.

• Field Medical Assistant (LT, MSC) - He is the operations/readiness officer for the platoon. He is the principle assistant to the Battalion Surgeon for operations, administration, and logistics.

• Medical Platoon Sergeant (SFC, 91B) - He also serves as the ambulance section sergeant. He supervises the activities and functions of the ambulances and equipment, operations security (OPSEC), and EMT.
