Special
Instructions

Special Instructions for Wheeled Vehicle Tactical Movement Virtual STX Self- development training.

The Wheeled Vehicle Tactical Movement (WVTM) Virtual Situational Training Exercise (STX) is being distributed as a self-development and sustainment training tool, primarily for soldiers in the 88M40, Motor Transport Operator series. (Please note that at this time, the WVTM VSTX is not part of the 88M40 ANCOC course requirements.) The school feels this training may be beneficial to soldiers in other MOSs, since it trains on the mission planning process and convoy operations.

Students desiring enrollment for this training must consider the following:

1. It is designed to run on a stand alone computer system.

2. Minimum system requirements include: · Microsoft Windows 2000 or · Windows NT (Service Pack 6a) · Pentium III 450 MHz CPU or faster · A minimum of 128 MB of RAM · Open GL Hardware Accelerated video card with 16 MB of video RAM or better. (i.e. ATI Rage 128 GL or NVDIA Diamond Viper 550 ) · 1-24-768 Video resolution with high (16 bit/65536) colors · Capability to print. (User's Guide and other materials as necessary.)

3. When using less than minimum specified CPU processor speed, the overall system response might be affected. The application response times will take longer. When using this program in a DTF, with minimum system requirements, it may run slow and problems can be encountered. For this reason we strongly recommend enrollment for those students who have access to a higher-end computer system than what is identified in the minimum requirements list above (2). For those students who anticipate using the computer systems available in the Digital Training Facilities (DTF) or an equivalent classroom that is networked, the student must be granted administrative privileges on that machine in order to load the program or request the classroom administrator to load the program.

NOTE: Please do not call for assistance on matters regarding playability in the DTF at this time

NOTE: For possible symptoms that may indicate a problem with the program and steps to overcome them, go to page 7 of the User's Guide, which you should have printed.

4. By default, this training is in a practice mode until the student elects to take it for credit/grade. It is not available for credit/grade at this time, and the user should not select the credit/grade function, nor activate the e-mail function. The “Calculate Results” function will give the user their score for their practice trial. You are allowed unlimited practice trials.

5. Although there are references to taking this training for credit/grade within the User's Guide and instructions, they do not apply for this self development version.
