SECTION II. INTRODUCTION
Motivation Use the following points to motivate the students:
· In all wars, including Operation Desert Storm, knowledge of position location on the battlefield was
vital to the successful conduct of military operations. The Army provides the ability to know accurate
position location using the Precision Lightweight Global Positioning System Receiver (PLGR).
· The PLGR was a key to success in the Persian Gulf and continues to perform well for soldiers and
leaders in training and combat situations.
· The PLGR is the heart of the BFV-ODS Digital Compass System (DCS). This training refreshes those
skills and knowledge necessary to be proficient in the operation of the PLGR.
