                               ·  One DVE per three students.
                               ·  Extension cord.

                               ·  Visitor's folder.

Classroom,           This lesson requires a classroom able to accommodate 25 students, 1 instructor,

                               ·  The instructor should ensure the students train on a BFV-ODS to reinforce their newly-learned skills.


Safety                    ·  Soldiers should not touch, eat, or inhale particles of a broken DVE window. The infrared (IR)
Requirements          window contains germanium which is toxic. The broken glass may cut personnel if touched.
                               ·  Soldiers should be careful when installing or removing the DVE. The DVE weighs 17 pounds and
                                  can cause personal injury if dropped.

Motivation            Use the following points to motivate the students:
                               ·  The difference in winning or surviving in combat depends upon the ability to see, move, and maneuver
                                  effectively on the battlefield.
                               ·  The Driver's Vision Enhancer (DVE) provides the BFV-ODS operator the ability to perform tactical
                                  movement and maneuvers despite the haze of the battlefield, darkness, and adverse
                                  weather conditions.
