SECTION II. INTRODUCTION
Motivation Use the following points to motivate the students:
· Ninety percent of first round misses are because the Bradley crew does not estimate range correctly.
· Knowing the components of the Bradley Eye-safe Laser Range Finder (BELRF) and their functions will enable the students to use the capabilities of the BELRF.
· The students have already been introduced to some of the BFV-ODS improvements; during this lesson they will learn to operate the BELRF.

THE ISU IS THE PRIMARY SIGHT UNIT ON THE BRADLEY ODS VEHICLES. IT ALLOWS FOR LOCATING, SIGHTING, AND TRACKING THE TOW MISSILE, 25mm GUN, AND 7.62mm COAXIAL MACHINE GUN. IT IS ALSO USED WITH THE BCIS.
WHEN THE TOW IS BEING FIRED, THE ISU DISPLAYS THE TOW RETICLE (CROSS HAIR). THE CROSS HAIR REPRESENTS THE ISU LINE OF SIGHT TO WHICH THE MISSILE IS GUIDED ONCE IT IS FIRED. CROSS HAIR PLACEMENT ON THE TARGET IS CRITICAL TO MISSILE ACCURACY.
