Purpose We designed this subcourse to teach you the basics of our military justice system. It covers the power of the commander to dispose of offenses through various means other than trial by court-martial. It also covers certain constitutional guaranties of the accused, and the procedures by which a case is referred for trial by court-martial. Procedures utilized in the trial of cases at courts-martial are also examined.

Eligibility The Army Correspondence Course Program subcourses are available to U.S. Active and Reserve military officers, warrant officers, and enlisted personnel; Reserve Officers' Training Corps, National Guard Officer Candidate School, West Point cadets, and authorized federal civilian employees.
Military personnel must have enough time remaining in service to complete the course/subcourse(s) in which they request enrollment.
