Purpose/
Scope

. The purpose of the 91C Practical Nurse Exportable Course is to prepare selected and qualified Army Medical Department enlisted personnel to: 1. Provide basic practical nursing support during the delivery of medical and nursing care to patients during peacetime and mobilization. 2. Function as efficient and effective soldiers and first level noncommissioned officers in a variety of settings by demonstrating personal integrity, accountability, responsibility, dependability and initiative.

Crucial Course Objectives: 1. Discuss principles of basic level anatomy, physiology, microbiology and nutrition. Perform basic level pharmacological calculations. 2. Discuss personal and vocational adjustments; legal aspects of nursing and ethics. 3. Administer safe and effective beginning level practical nursing care. 4. Apply knowledge of drug therapy to nursing practice. 5. Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills. 6. Demonstrate leadership skills as both a team member and a team leader. 7. State basic principles of field nursing in accordance with (IAW) FM FM 8-230.
