  1. Remove the magazine.
  2. Cock the rifle.
  3. SAFE.
  4. Lock the bolt open.
  5. Check the receiver.
  6. Allow the bolt to go forward.

Check the receiver and chamber to
ensure they do not contain
ammunition.
