Overview |
The Defense Marking for Shipment and Storage Course consists of one subcourse, PT3200 and supplemental reference MIL-STD-129P. It reflects the doctrine current at the time its subcourses were prepared. Unless otherwise stated, the masculine gender of singular pronouns is used to refer to both men and women. |

Purpose |
This course is designed to provide training to military personnel, civilian government employees and members of industry in the current requirements and procedures for the uniform marking of military supplies and equipment for storage and shipment. The course will place emphasis on those areas that most often lead to reports of marking errors. Marking is the application of numbers, letters, labels, tags, symbols, or colors to provide identification and expedite handling during shipment and storage. This course presents information on the general and detailed marking requirements as found in MIL-STD-129P, change 4, Standard Practice for Military Marking, published in 19 Sep 2007. |

Enrollment Eligibility |
The Army Correspondence Course Program courses/subcourses are available to U.S. Active and Reserve military officers, warrant officers, and enlisted personnel; Reserve Officers' Training Corps, National Guard Officer Candidate School, West Point cadets, and authorized federal civilian employees. Military personnel must have enough time remaining in service to complete the course/subcourse in which they request enrollment. |
