Overview

This US Army Correspondence Course Program (ACCP) Course consists of five phases.

Phase I. Phase 1 is a Distributed Learning phase common to all branch Captain's Career Courses and consisting of common core training.

Phase II. Correspondence. Twelve (12) subcourses: IS0346, IS7045, CM1303, CM2300, CM2306, CM2307, CM2308, CM2402, CM3401, CM3404, CM5206, and CM7116.

Phase III. Branch transfer phase (resident training). Officers not CM OB qualified must attend and complete the Unit NBC Defense Officer/NCO Course conducted at RC training institutions or installation schools. Credit will not be given for completion of this course by correspondence.

Phase IV. Common Core Distributed Learning.

Phase V. Two-Week Resident Combined Arms Exercise training.

It reflects the doctrine current at the time its subcourses were prepared.

Unless otherwise stated, the masculine gender of singular pronouns is used to refer to both men and women.

Purpose

To prepare RC commissioned officers at the rank of first lieutenant through major for company/detachment command and staff duties at battalion through division or comparable level.

 
Target
Audience

Eligibility.

Commissioned officers, first lieutenant through major, who are members of the Reserve Component and have not received credit for the Chemical Officer Advanced Course. Must have completed an officer basic course and meet the U.S. Army height and weight standards. DOD civilians, GS–7 and above, who have a need for advanced chemical training.

Administrative Instructions.

This course is organized into five phases. The course must be completed within three years. All required phases must be completed before a completion certificate can be awarded.

1. Chemical Branch commissioned officers must complete Phases 1 through 5.

2. DOD civilians may complete only the branch specific phases for a completion certificate.

3. Commissioned officers branch transferring to the Chemical Corps must complete the NBC Defense Course before beginning the branch specific resident phase. Phases 1, 4, and 5 may be waived if completed at the original branch school.

4. Commissioned officers who have completed the Reserve Component Officer Advanced Course may enroll in phases 1, 4 and 5 only, to complete CAS3 requirements.

NOTE: It is recommended, but not required, that Phase 2 be completed prior to attendance in Phase 3, and that Phase 4 be completed prior to attendance in Phase 5.

CM5206, Nuclear Weapons Effects

CM7116, Radiological Monitoring and Survey (RESTRICTED ACCESS)

Phase II. Branch transfer phase (resident training). Officers not VM OB qualified must attend and complete the Unit NBC Defense Officer/NCO Course conducted at RC training institutions or installation schools. Credit will not be given for completion of this course by correspondence.

Phase III. Two weeks resident training conducted at the Chemical School.

Eligibility

The Army Correspondence Course Program courses/subcourses are available to U.S. Active and Reserve military officers, warrant officers, and enlisted personnel; Reserve Officers' Training Corps, National Guard Officer Candidate School, West Point cadets, and authorized federal civilian employees.

Military personnel must have enough time remaining in service to complete the course/subcourse in which they request enrollment.

Taking the Course/Subcourses On-Line

 
Taking the
subcourses

You do not have to wait for enrollment verification before beginning. You can start immediately. Everything you need to complete the course's component subcourses is provided on-line. You will need no additional materials, nor will any be sent to you. View and study all materials (including practical exercises), and take the subcourse final examinations.

 
Taking
the exams

REMINDER: To receive credit for the subcourses toward course completion, you must have received course enrollment verification by e-mail before taking any subcourse examination.

Once you complete an individual examination and "submit" your responses, you will be notified immediately if you have, or have not, earned a passing grade. You will receive your final grade (Completion Notice) by mail.
