Purpose/
Scope

This IMI (DL) courseware consists of 32 hours of self-pace instruction. Phase I of the Unit Prevention Leaders (UPLs) certification course is designed to train and certify UPLs to conduct legally sufficient unit urinalysis collections IAW AR 600-85k Provide substance abuse awareness training, and to assist the unit commander in running a successful Unit Substance Abuse Program. Phase II of the course is taught at the local installation after the soldier has been place on orders by the commander as the primary or alternate UPL. Course Content: (1) UPL CTP CD is a self-paced curriculum consisting of Tracks of study. · Track 1. Introduction - Course Requirements, UPL Values, The ASAP, Responsibilities, UPL Requirements · Track 2. Biochemical Testing I - Introduction to Biochemical Testing, Bio-safety, Biochemical Testing Procedures, The Laboratory · Track 3. Biochemical Testing II - Receipt of Lab Results, Administration, Legal Issues, Alcohol Testing · Track 4. Prevention- Introduction, Substance Abuse, Drug and Alcohol Prevention · Track 5. Training - Introduction to Training, Training your Unit, Drugs and Alcohol (2) Local Training curriculum can reinforce the self-paced CD training, but also includes local policies and procedures, guest speakers etc. (3) Testing. All UPLs must demonstrate their proficiency in the proper collection and handling of urinalysis specimens and take the 50 question exam.

Access Product

A student must be enrolled through ATRRS to receive credit for this course. The DL Phase (I) of this course is available at the VIEW button below and, in excepted cases, on CD-ROM. The resident portion of this course, Phase II, is taught at the local installation after the soldier has been placed on orders by the unit commander as the primary or alternate UPL.

You may not attend the resend portion (Phase II) of this training until you have successfully Phase I (DL).
